When will I get my damage deposit back

After a tenant has moved out and given the landlord a forwarding address in writing, the landlord has 15 days to:

  1. Return the deposit(s) with any interest to the tenant
  2. Ask the tenant to agree in writing to any deductions and return the difference to the tenant
  3. Apply for dispute resolution asking to keep all or some of a deposit

I didn't have a pet at move in, can I get one now?

Before getting any pet, even if its to replace one that you had that may have passed, always ask your landlord.  There may be an application to fill out that will also set expectations such as dogs must be under 30lbs.  A pet deposit will also be required which is equal to 1/2 months rent.  You will get this back when you move out provided your pet has not caused any damage.
